Revelation 1:14-15: And his head and the hairs were white as wool as snow, and his eyes as a flame of fire, and his feet like burnished bronze as from a refined furnace, and his voice as the sound of many waters.

This verse is a wonderful and vivid description of the “one like a son of man,” referring to Jesus. There are four aspects of Jesus described here. His white hair brings to my mind both purity and wisdom. White represents something that is pure and undefiled. It is also the color of hair of those who are older and full of life’s wisdom. It is what I imagine Moses’ face and head were like after being in the presence of God (Exodus 34:29). Jesus’ eyes are like fire that penetrates and burns. Nothing can hide from his gaze. Jesus’ gaze should bring conviction and guilt to those who are living in sin. His feet of burnished bronze must be shiny and reflective and able to go anywhere that is needed. His voice is thunderous, like some of the mighty cascades and waterfalls I have seen. You can hardly hear yourself talk in such situations. You have to take notice when Jesus talks. How will we respond to such a vision? Jesus cannot be ignored. He can be rejected, but we have to take notice of him when he appears to us. He will appear in many different ways to us: sometimes through people, events, the Bible, and even visions like what John experienced. When Jesus reveals himself to us, how will we respond to him?
