Revelation 2:7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

This verse expresses the hope of all who repent of their sins. Our hope is that we can eat from the Tree of Life. This is the tree that Adam and Eve were kept from eating after they sinned in the Garden of Eden. This tree bears fruit that is life sustaining. It is the tree of immortality. What is this tree? Is it a literal tree? We will not need a tree to have eternal life. Such life is the promise of resurrection for those who believe in Jesus. This tree becomes symbolic of the new life available through Jesus. It represent relationship with God that was broken when Adam and Eve sinned.  They no longer had access to the source of eternal life when sin entered their lives. The right to eat from this tree is the right to have eternal life and be in relationship with God. Those who are given this right will be the ones around God’s throne and present for the Lamb’s wedding feast. The Tree of Life is symbolic for eternal life.
