Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.

Since the dragon has no success against the woman, it goes after her children. The theme of protection continues in this verse. Added to this is the importance of keeping true to the message about Jesus. The passage does not indicate who the offspring of the woman is, but it suggests that this would be the church since the offspring hold to the commandments and testimony of Jesus. If this is the case, the woman could be Israel and the offspring the church. The church must hold true to the testimony about Jesus and not giving in to the persecution of the dragon. This will require 1) total trust in God and 2) courage to stand in the faith of conviction and assurance.
