Revelation 22:20-21 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

The words of Revelation offer a promise and blessing to the reader. These are also the final words of the Bible. The expressed hope of true believers who have put their full trust in the gospel of Jesus Christ is the promise of Jesus’ second coming. Again, we have the words “soon.” This should help us with anticipation. We must be watchful and diligent is doing what Jesus commands. We do not live under the yoke of the law or slavery to obedience, but we live as those who have been called and given the privilege of being servants of the most High.

We are given grace to help us on this journey of life. God’s grace is the empowerment that sustains us through the wars against sin and the evil one. God’s grace also helps us live in righteousness. God’s grace is experienced most fully in submission to the lordship of Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to be our guide.
