1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:

Each of us is unique. Our uniqueness comes from many different things, including genetics, upbringing, choices in life, and God’s work in us. All of this is part of God’s grace in us, creation in His image, and his remaking us as His vessels in this world. These gifts are not for selfish purposes, although they may help our self-image improve. Because these gifts come as grace to us, as the outflow of God’s grace, they should be extended as love to others. One way to express this love is through service. In the context of verse 9, this service can be show in hospitality. But this verse is broader and more inclusive of any type of service that benefits those around us. Service to others is at the heart of being a Christian. We cannot really show love without serving others. We must develop a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as we look for ways of expressing this love as service. This is part of our obligation and obedience as believers. Peter states it as being “good stewards.” We can learn to look for opportunities to be of service, both to those who are friends and also to those who cause us harm.
