1 Corinthians 2:14

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

This verse needs little comment and application because the news is full of people rebelling against God and destroying God’s people. What is sad to me is the prevalence of this and how people have become more and more vocal in their opposition to Christians. Sometimes I read the comments after a news article on the internet. The open rebellion and rejection of God’s ways is so evidence. I feel sorry for these people. Then I look at college campuses and see young people who have no clue, or maybe they know what they are doing, about rejecting God. Why do people do this? I am not always sure, but they have become blinded by their own desires, lusts, and ideas. Some people want to blame the church for this. I am not so quick to do that because people have choices. The problem is complex. It will likely get worse before getting better, I am afraid. It takes a while to put evil back in the box after it has been let loose. Many people will suffer before this happens. World War II is one example of how it took much sacrifice to fight evil back. Now evil has surfaced in other ways, including immorality. As the church and believers in Christ, we must stand strong, and never give up our testimony and faith.
