1 Corinthians 2:2<\/p>\n

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.<\/em><\/p>\n

There are a lot of things that can distract us in this world today. I usually have so many projects going and so many things to do that it is hard for me to stay focused enough to get any of them done. At times I feel almost crippled by the amount of things that need to be done. Paul’s ministry in Corinth was focused. Yes, he had a lot of things to do, including making a living as a tentmaker. His statement here is hyperbole but it reveals his heart. In today’s terms, we would call him an extremist or a fanatic. Can we be anything but this if we take our faith seriously? Can we pander to the political correctness of our culture? Paul was willing to lay it all out and share the gospel even if it meant ridicule or rejection. Not everyone rejected him, however. Everywhere he went, he planted churches and led people to the Lord. This is a great example of single-minded obedience.<\/p>\n
