Psalm 103: 5
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Where do we find our satisfaction? Another word for satisfaction is happiness or worth. What gives us meaning in life? Where do we place our self-worth? What gives us happiness? This is a challenging question because life is dynamic and always shifting. No one is a robot that always gives the same response to a situation. So much will influence our responses, dreams, and desires. God has our best in mind. When we give God ourselves, our desires, and our abilities, God will take these, sanctify them, and return to them in ways that bring glory to him. This brings spiritual, emotional, and sometimes physical refreshing. Trying to satisfy our desires by our own strength will eventually bring dissatisfaction, defeat, and a denial of God’s presence in our lives.
