1 Corinthians 1:2
To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:
This verse is interesting because Paul calls the Corinthians “sanctified.” A lot of what he talks about in the letter indicates a group of people living too much like the world and not enough like Christ. In essence, Paul is telling them to become who you are in Christ. Act like Christ has really made a difference in your life. If we claim to believe in Jesus, our lifestyles should indicate this. We have been made holy, so let this holiness infiltrate our whole being. Let the evidence speak for itself. Our call is to be holy. God has made this possible “in Christ.” The connect or disconnect between these two points is up to us.
