1 John 5:10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in him, the one who does not believe God makes him a liar, because he does not believe in the witness which God has witnessed about his son.
Believing in Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan for us. This is what the Holy Spirit draws all people towards, whether they realize it or not. The most important decision anyone can make is what to do with Jesus Christ. To believe or not to believe, that is the question. The Holy Spirit bears witness within our hearts and minds that Jesus is the truth. Refusing to believe in Jesus is a rejection of the truth. This belief in Jesus is more than head knowledge or a simple statement that Jesus was a real person who lived at a point in time. This belief must be faith, a trust in Jesus as the atoning sacrifice for sins. It requires the affirmation in Jesus’ incarnation as the divine Word from God and Jesus’ life, death and resurrection as human. It requires simple humility that draws us into full commitment and consecration to Jesus as Lord. The Holy Spirit will guide those who have simple faith into the depths of this truth. It is a life-long journey that never ends.
