Revelation 19:9-10 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

The fourth beatitude of Revelation is given. It is a blessing to be invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb. This assumes that those who are invited are worthy to be invited. Not everyone is invited. Only those who have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life. Shared meals were seen as significant times of fellowship in the ancient world. This will be a feast and party like nothing ever before.

John’s response is to fall down and worship the angel but he is told that he must worship only God. The angels response indicates that angels worship and serve God just like people. Angels are only fellow servants of God. They hold to the testimony of Jesus and they worship God. Jesus is the subject of all true prophecy.  Jesus also produces all true prophecy.
