Hebrews 10:14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross changed all of time and eternity. It marked the culmination of God’s plan for the redemption of humanity. His death was a single offering, given once. That means it was sufficient. It accomplished what it set out to do. The word “perfected” is significant in the New Testament. It means that something has been completed or has reached its intended design or result. To be perfected by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross means that we experience God’s plan for us. This plan is focused on our sanctification. This verb is in the perfect tense meaning that the perfection began at Jesus’ death and resurrection and continues for all time. It was not a one time act that only served the purpose at that time in history. Rather, it is ongoing in its ability to fulfill God’s plan for us. “Being sanctified” is a present participle indicating that our sanctification is on-going. When we connect all these ideas together, they are significant. We can look to the cross for the answer to the sin problem. Sin as separation from God and moral stain from disobedience are removed and cleansed away. Anything trials and temptations we face in this life can be resolved in Jesus’ blood shed on the cross. Our sins of omission and sins of commission are all cleansed away and we are continually being remade into Christ’s image, which is God’s plan for all humanity. This verse connect many theological ideas, with Jesus at the center.
