Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Therefore shows that Paul is now answering the question of 7:24 and the problem of sin. The answer to the wrath of God (1:18; 2;5) is now answered. Our sins are forgiven in Jesus Christ because the condemnation of the law has been replaced by the law of love grown in us by the Holy Spirit. The only solution to the problem of sin is to be found in Christ Jesus. It is only in Christ that we become who God created us to be. When we are in Christ, the law no longer is the tool of sin to enslave us but is restored to its purpose of being the guide for holy living . “In Christ” the law is put in the right perspective as a means of grace, and the Holy Spirit enables us to obey the law. Christ’s death and resurrection makes the fulfillment of the law possible because he conquered sin which held the law captive.
