Romans 10:14-15 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
This is a chain link of questions that culminates with the need for the message of the gospel to be preached. People need to hear the gospel clearly, in terms they can understand, and in their heart language so that they can respond to it. If people hear the gospel in this way, then they are without excuse for rejecting it. Paul had preached the gospel clearly to the Jews. He lays it out very clearly and specifically in this letter. Anyone who reads this letter is without excuse and will be judged accordingly. The problem is that people need to hear the gospel in the first place. They need someone to tell them the good news of Jesus in clear ways. Paul makes one further point that the preachers need to be sent or commissioned to spread the gospel. God will raise up people to do this. These people also need a church behind them to encourage, pray for, and support them. This is not a Lone Ranger task but is the job of the whole Body of Christ. We are in this together as a team. The mission is before us. There is much to do.
