1 Corinthians 15:47-49 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.

The earthly body is natural and part of this world. This is a simple deduction made by seeing the decay of bodies. Eventually, our bodies will return to the basic elements of the earth. Once it dies, like a seed, and is raised again, it will be different as a spiritual body. Paul’s logic is consistent. A natural body is part of the earthly existence. A spiritual body is part of the heavenly existence. What this body will be like is unknown. We might look at Jesus’ resurrected body for an example. He was able to come and go through walls and locked doors. He appeared at different times and different places. The disciples at first did not recognized him but then did realize who he was. So, there was something recognizable about Jesus yet also something different in his resurrected state. We will be recognizable in our spiritual body but also different. The spiritual body will not suffer from death and decay. Because it is spiritual, it is not limited by matter. This is beyond our imagination.
