1 Corinthians 3:7
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
We have to realize that unless the Lord is in a project, we labor in vain. We share the gospel, not for our own glory, but for the glory of God. Our strength, wisdom, and abilities are limited. Some people are blessed with certain talents that go a long ways in ministry. A person can built a large church without God as the focus. Size is not the issue. What is more crucial is the spiritual resource for our ministry. God must be the strength our own efforts. God gives us the vision, gives us the Holy Spirit, and gives us the strength to carry out his will. We must stand behind the cross in our efforts to win the world. The temptation in ministry is to do things from our own resources. We must do our part, but this should come in response to what God is already doing in us. We are followers of Christ, not leaders of Christ. He must be lifted up; we must be humbled. God will use and bless those who have submitted completely to him.
