1 Timothy 2:8
Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
It is hard to pray when our hearts are impure. This impurity can come from many things. This verse talks about anger and disharmony, having problems with other people, thinking of ourselves as better than others, being at odds with another person. There is power in unified prayer. To be united in prayer with others requires humility as we realize that we are in this game of life together. Holy hands come are a symbol of holy hearts. We need God and others to live a life of holiness.
