He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Endurance. There is a lot that tries to pull us away from Christ. Temptations are all around. We cannot endure by our own strength. God gives us the source of the Holy Spirit to teach us the mind of Christ. God is the one who will keep us. God works in us to help us become blameless. Our goal is to be ready when Jesus comes again. This is a journey. None of us measure up very well on our own strength. It is really the grace at work within us that will make us to become like Christ. Our part is simply to say YES in obedience. This is not always simple, however. Sometimes life throws us some very difficult curve balls. A key theme in this letter is community. God gives us others to help us on this journey. The goal: to be blameless. The means: God. The method: being firm, strong, and solidly founded upon the truth of the gospel.
