1 Corinthians 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Christians around the world are ridiculed and persecuted. A recent article reported that 2015 was the worse year for Christian persecution. There is something about the message of Christianity that bothers people. What are they afraid of? Does the light of Christ expose too much of their darkness? Do they feel convicted and this is the way they lash out? What drives the rising persecution and animosity towards Christians in the US? I doubt things will get better because the forces of darkness have been unleashed and taking advantage any opportunity they are given. As Christians, we must realize that we are on the winning side. Paul’s message of the death and resurrection of Jesus was received by many of his day as foolishness. But Paul believed it was the very power of God on display. This power of God can transform, renew, and sustain those who put their lives and will under the direction of the Holy Spirit. This is a bold move of faith. It is not easy but the benefits are tremendous.
