Psalm 103:

20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

The only proper response one can give to God’s salvation and sovereignty is praise. Because God is on the throne of heaven, all the angelic beings praise Him. But this praise does not stop in heaven but goes to all creation, where God has total dominion. Living a life of praise will keep us closer to God. What will praise involve, according to this psalm? It will begin by acknowledging that God is indeed in control our lives. We have totally committed ourselves to His way. This is the primary evidence that we truly believe. Faith must lead to consecration. This will be shown, as v. 20 states, with obedience. Obedience is the way our commitment is lived out. It is not enough to say that God is sovereign. We must live it out by doing God’s will.
