1 Corinthians 1:25

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

The most dangerous place to be is in open rebellion against God. This can be in many forms and in many ways. At its simplest, it involves rejecting the leading of the Holy Spirit upon our conscience. At its worst, it is enticing the young and innocent into sin. Human strength and wisdom are significant values in our modernized and technological age. Our abilities as a species have become significant and even world threatening. Many great things have been done through our God-given creativity. But because of sin, these great things are often turned into terrible weapons. The place to find true wisdom and strength is in walking in the shadow and likeness of the cross. This is the way of submission and humility, following after Jesus who humbled himself to death, even death on a cross (Phil 2:5-11). It is only in dying to our old self can we be remade into a new person. Transformation comes through worship and humility. Paul is pointing the Corinthians back to the very essentials of what he preached to them. He does not elaborate on all his theology, but it clearly stands in the background of this chapter.
