Psalm 103

17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.

God loves the whole world but to experience God’s love in fullness, there are conditions. These verses lay out the condition to experiencing “perfect love.” First is fear or reverence. This can be summed up in the world “relationship.” The key to spiritual growth is worship. It lies at the heart of who we are as God’s people. It is the essence of discipleship (Rom. 12:1-2). Indifference shuts us off from all that God wants to do within us through his grace. Second is obedience. Obedience out to be the response of relationship. Covenant is about relationship and obedience and merges the two. These verses illustrate the key biblical idea of faith and obedience. Both are important and crucial to experiencing the fullness of God.
