1 Timothy 2:

This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

This is a significant statement about the depth of God’s love and grace. There is no place for limited atonement in this verse. God wants all people to be saved, not just some or certain elect people. That is God’s desire. Why doesn’t it happen? Because God leaves the choice to people. This verse challenges us to see the world the way God does. Since we are called to pray for the salvation of all, our vision must be for all. That may challenge us to go beyond our comfort zone and seek to be Jesus in the difficult places in this world.
